The Lawnside Historial Society regularly plans trips of interest to African-American culture, especially those with a connection to Lawnside.

You won't want to miss:

Lullaby for Dreamland, an exhibit of photographs from the famed now-vanished Lawnside entertainment district, at the Camden County Historical Society, Park Boulevard and Euclid Ave., Saturday, Feb. 2 through April 10. The show kicks off with a free reception featuring a performance by Bootise Barnes and the Dreamland All-Stars on Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. Go to the Camden County Historical Society's Web site for more information.

Celebrate Black History Month on Sunday, February 17 at 4 p.m. at a Lawnside Ecumenical service hosted by Emmanuel Church of God in Christ, Brown Street and Warwick Road. The ecumenical choir will sing spirituals in a musical about the Underground Railroad written by Sister Iris Wiggins. An offering will be collected.
